Last night, I arrived in Hangzhou in a raining night by a China Railway High-speed, it is very similar to French TGV or Japanese Shinkansen “bullet trains” but far larger. Top speed of 300+ km/h was reached briefly before our arrival. China latest generation CRH, all with top speeds of 300+ km/h, much faster than all the propeller driven piston engine airplanes I have been ever flown.
Hangzhou and Suzhou two cities are known for high-tech semiconductor development as the "Silicon Valleys of China".
It seems everyone in China knows a few ancient proverbs that praise how wonderful Hangzhou and Suzhou were in the good old days “上有天堂,下有蘇杭”。
"Heaven above - Suzhou and Hangzhou below"
"Up in the sky there is Heaven; here below on earth we have Suzhou and Hangzhou."
"To be born in Suzhou, live in Hangzhou, eat in Guangzhou, die in Liuzhou."
"To marry in Suzhou, live in Hangzhou, eat in Guangzhou, die in Liuzhou."
